Ogun Councilor Move a motion To suspend Local Government Chairman over gross misconduct

Asalu Aina Musediq, representing Ota Ward 2, has officially moved a motion against the Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Alhaji Lawal Adewale Wasiu (FCA) — over alleged gross misconduct, insubordination, and failure to present financial records of the council, Peak Newspaper reports

According to Peak Newspaper investigation, the motion presented on October 30, 2025, the Chairman has allegedly ignored multiple requests to submit the council’s income and expenditure accounts, raising concerns of financial mismanagement.

Following deliberations, the council resolved to suspend the Executive Chairman for three months pending investigation, while the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abosede Balogun, will serve as Acting Chairman.

The matter has been forwarded to the Ogun State Ministry of Local Government, the House of Assembly, and security agencies for further action.
