The abductors of Omoniyi Eleyinmi, a staff member of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), have demanded a N7 million ransom for his release. Eleyinmi, a faculty officer in the Faculty of Education, was kidnapped five days ago while returning home to Supare-Akoko.
According to a family source, the kidnappers initially demanded N100 million but reduced it to N7 million after negotiations. The Alumni Association of AAUA has appealed for donations to raise the ransom amount to secure Eleyinmi’s release.
The Ondo State Police Command has directed tactical commanders to ensure Eleyinmi’s rescue and apprehend the suspects.
The command has distanced itself from ransom negotiations.
