The Governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo has praised Ondo workers for their resilience, determination and sacrifice.
In his Workers’ Day statement made available to Peak Newspaper Nigeria on May 1, which is the National Workers’ Day in Nigeria, Comrade Taiwo highlighted the immense and extraordinary contribution of workers in the Nation’s economic stability, social interaction, policy-making and Nation building.
Revealing that workers are the lifeblood of any country, Comrade Taiwo explained that the significance of Nigerian workers exceeds just economic stability, praising Nigerian workers for their resilience and National advocacy for a better society, justice, fairness and promoting accountability.
He stated ” Without workers, there wouldn’t be Nigeria. Nigerian workers are the lifeblood of Nigeria. Today, May 1, being the day to honour workers, I praise Nigerian workers for their impeccable contribution toward the growth, development and progress of Nigeria.
“The history of Nigeria is incomplete without the immense, extraordinary and relentless contribution of the workers. Throughout the colonial administration, military rule and the civilian government, workers have played a significant role in the economic stability, Nation building, socioeconomic development, advocacy for truth, fairness and justice,” Comrade Taiwo said.
Furthermore, he urged workers to be more diligent, law-abiding, honest, United and professional, stressing the role of “professionalism and good work ethics” as “hallmark for excellence.”
Nevertheless, Comrade Taiwo lauded Ondo state workers’ Unions, describing them as “sine qua non in the development, growth and progress of Ondo state.”
He said “I also celebrate every Workers’ Union in Ondo state. They are amazing, determined and indispensable in economic development, social growth and policy-making in Ondo state.”
