As the House of Representatives election in Ondo State draws closer, candidates across various constituencies are unveiling their visions and programmes to voters. Among them is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Odigbo, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Federal Constituency, Engr (Pastor.) Ademulegun Rapheal Adewale, who has outlined an ambitious agenda focused on youth empowerment, economic development and improved welfare for constituents, Peak Newspaper reports.
In an Exclusive interview with Peak Newspaper, Pastor (Engr.) Ademulegun detailed his vision for the constituency, assuring voters that, if entrusted with the mandate, he would demonstrate what purposeful and people-oriented leadership entails.
According to him, the development of the constituency must begin with deliberate investment in its people, particularly the youth.
“The youths are the lifeblood of any society that must experience all-round development. If I emerge as the House of Representatives member representing Odigbo, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Federal Constituency, I will prioritise investing in the growth, development and wellbeing of our youths.”
Ademulegun pledged to introduce initiatives aimed at empowering young people and facilitating greater access to employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. He said his administration would also focus on equipping youths with relevant skills that would enable them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the constituency.
He also promised to give special attention to the welfare of elderly residents, including the provision of free medical services, monthly support incentives and other programmes designed to ensure that senior citizens are valued and adequately cared for.
On economic development, Ademulegun identified the vast but largely untapped mineral resources across Odigbo, Ile-Oluji and Oke-Igbo as key opportunities for economic transformation. He pledged to facilitate the establishment of more industries and factories while attracting investors and businesses to the constituency.
He further promised to support farmers through grants, agricultural empowerment programmes and other interventions designed to improve productivity, increase their income and strengthen the agricultural sector within the constituency.
The PDP candidate maintained that his vision is centred on creating an environment where residents can access opportunities, improve their livelihoods and contribute to the overall development of the constituency.
Meanwhile, Ademulegun declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the President’s leadership and noting that his emergence as the federal lawmaker for the constituency would provide strong support for President Tinubu’s 2027 political ambition.
He urged the people of Odigbo, Ile-Oluji and Oke-Igbo to entrust him with their mandate, promising to make purposeful representation, inclusive development and improved welfare the cornerstone of his tenure.
