Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Jimoh Ibrahim has fired back at a Former Media Assistant to Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, Comrade Olaniyi Arogbo, who recently berated the Ondo South Senatorial District Senator of lacking required leadership capacity to galvanize growth and development in his constituency, rather, he is only interested in media showmanship.

Speaking with Peak Newspaper Nigeria, Ibrahim described Comrade Arogbo’s criticism as “attention-seeking, petty, political and frivolous claims, emanating from a dark closet of hatred and misjudgement.”

Comrade Arogbo, through a press statement which he issued recently, condemned Senator Ibrahim for allegedly neglecting his constituency project, while he pays more attention to media appearances.

“It has been two years since Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Folorunsho assumed office as the Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District. Unfortunately, his tenure so far has yielded little to no tangible achievements for the people he represents aside from frequent appearances on national television and front pages of newspapers.

“This situation is not only disturbing but also deeply disappointing. Ondo South has experienced a steady decline under Senator Ibrahim’s leadership, despite the enormous capacity he claims to have. As a renowned businessman, and with his supposed strong connections to both the President and the Senate President, one would have expected a transformation of our district. Instead, we have witnessed stagnation particularly in the areas of constituency projects and empowerment programs,” Comrade Arogbo stated.

While reacting to Arogbo’s claims, Senator Ibrahim dismissed the criticism as misleading and unfounded, maintaining that he is one of the most performing Senator in the history of Ondo state.

“Contrary to the grossly unfounded, misleading and false claims of attention-seeking Arogbo, I have recorded a significant legislative, infrastructural, and philanthropic achievements for my constituency.

“To start with, I sponsored key bills, including the Bitumen Mining Industry Bill and the establishment of educational institutions.

“I provided solar-powered boreholes across 66 wards, rehabilitated roads, and empowered over 100 constituents with ₦300,000 each, alongside mobility aids for persons with disabilities.

“I donated ₦10 million to fire victims, supported schools, and distributed educational materials. These are facts over Arogbo’s fallacies and I am sure that the good people of Ondo South Senatorial District will not give undue credence to his childishness,” Senator Ibrahim said.
