First Lady Senator Remi Tinubu clashed with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sunday during the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Peak Newspaper reports.
The event also saw her being conferred with the chieftaincy title of Yeye-Asiwaju of Ile Oodua.
The incident occurred when Governor Adeleke took the podium to give a speech. In his customary style, he danced briefly and began singing, drawing attention from the audience.
Senator Tinubu approached him, saying, “I’m giving you five minutes to finish your speech. The music is enough.” Adeleke, however, continued singing, prompting her to return and warn, “I will turn off the microphone. Stop the music.”
Videos of the interaction have since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and commentary.
Governor Adeleke, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been exploring another political platform for his 2026 re-election bid. In a letter dated November 4, 2025, he cited party crises as the reason for his resignation.
