The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of six real estate marketers in the Obafemi-Owode area of the state, Peak Newspaper reports.
According to police sources, the victims were reportedly on a land inspection visit on Thursday when they were intercepted and taken away by unidentified armed men. The incident occurred in a remote area of the community, prompting immediate deployment of security operatives.
Ogun Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said a tactical team has already been mobilised to the scene and surrounding areas to track the suspects and rescue the victims safely. She assured the public that the command is treating the matter as a top priority.
Local residents say incidents involving land buyers and survey teams have increased recently, raising concerns about safety around undeveloped sites.
Authorities are urging anyone with useful information to come forward as the search-and-rescue operation continues.
