The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is set to compensate victims of a fire accident that destroyed valuable goods and shops in the Sabo international market Ore, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Peak Newspaper reports.
According to preliminary reports, about 14 shops and valuable goods were destroyed in a devastating fire incident in August 2026.
Following the fire outbreak, which affected shops and valuables in the Sabo area, Aiyedatiwa pledged to compensate the victims of the incident.
Speaking with Peak Newspaper, a source close to the Ondo State Government disclosed that the state government is set to compensate the Sabo fire victims today.
The source added that the compensation could possibly be implemented between now and 6pm today, noting that the gesture is aimed at reducing the financial burden on the victims of the fire incident.
However, no official statement has been released by the Ondo State Government regarding the compensation for the Sabo fire victims.
