Aichatou El-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has issued a pre-action notice to the ICPC Chairman demanding N2 billion in damages for alleged defamation, Peak Newspaper reports.
The suit stems from an ICPC press statement that described her in ways she claims damaged her reputation – including referring to her as “a woman who identified herself as the wife of a defendant,” calling some of her claims “false and misleading,” and accusing her of violating visitation protocols.
Her lawyers argue these statements questioned her status as a legal wife and portrayed her negatively to the public.
