Afrobeats star, Davido Adeleke, reportedly broke down in tears of joy after his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, was declared winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Peak Newspaper reports.
Adeleke was returned elected for a second term in office after defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The emotional moment came as supporters of the Accord Party celebrated the governor’s victory and second-term mandate.
Davido, who had openly supported his uncle throughout the election, was seen overwhelmed with emotion as he celebrated the victory.
