Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has announced a fresh set of regulations banning beards, dreadlocks, body-hugging clothes, and other forms of appearance it describes as inconsistent with the institution’s values, Peak Newspaper reports.
The directive, contained in a recent circular to students, reinforces the university’s long-standing code of conduct, which is rooted in its faith-based principles. According to the management, the rules are aimed at promoting discipline, modesty, and a learning-friendly environment on campus.
Under the new guidelines, male students are prohibited from wearing beards, keeping dreadlocks, or sporting hairstyles considered unconventional. In contrast, female students are barred from wearing body-hugging outfits, revealing clothes, and other attire deemed inappropriate by the school authorities.
The university warned that students who violate the dress and grooming code will face disciplinary actions, which may include sanctions ranging from warnings to suspension, depending on the severity and frequency of the offence.
Babcock University urged students to comply fully with the regulations, stressing that adherence to the code of conduct is a requirement for continued stay and academic pursuit within the institution.
