The Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, has called on President Bola Tinubu to seek both local and international support to end Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, Peak Newspaper reports.
In a communique, the organisation warned that the country’s sovereignty is under threat and criticised the government for negotiating with terrorists instead of protecting citizens, particularly in the Middle Belt.
Afenifere urged federal restructuring to devolve powers to states, grant ethnic nationalities self-determination, and create independent state police forces to better safeguard lives and property.
